The War on Drugs has taken a tremendous toll on millions of lives, particularly in communities of color. Below are sources of information and organizations actively working to fight this injustice. 

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is a national organization that works daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States.

NORML's mission is to move public opinion sufficiently to legalize the responsible use of marijuana by adults, and to serve as an advocate for consumers to assure they have access to high quality marijuana that is safe, convenient and affordable.

Southern Poverty Law Center monitors hate groups and other extremists throughout the U.S. and exposes their activities to law enforcement agencies, the media and the public.

The Drug Policy Alliance’s mission is to advance those policies and attitudes that best reduce the harms of both drug use and drug prohibition, and to promote the sovereignty of individuals over their minds and bodies.

The San Francisco Office of Cannabis is an agency of the City and County of San Francisco responsible for creating cannabis policy and carrying out its enforcement, including the Equity Program.

The San Francisco Equity Group works to ensure that people in communities negatively impacted by the War on Drugs have access to career and business opportunities in the cannabis industry.
